Rise is situated in the Agadir region of southern Morocco's Atlantic coast, slightly above the famous surf town of Taghazout in the stunning hills of Ait Bhihi. We are conveniently located just a 40 minute drive from Agadir's international airport where you will be picked up by one of our local drivers.
You will find direct flights from the UK and other major European airports to Agadir with flight times between 2-4hrs. Guests travelling from the US, Australia, or North Europe can fly to Casablanca or a major European airport where they can take a transfer flight to Agadir. If you are coming overland from Marrakesh, we can book a taxi or bus for vou however we cannot cover these costs.
Visitors with EU and US passports can enter Morocco for tourist purposes without a visa, as long as their passport remains valid throughout their stay. If you hold a passport from a country Outside the European Union or the United States, it is advisable to consult with the nearest Moroccan Embassy for specific entry requirements.
Can I come alone? Morocco stands as a safe destination for travellers. With tourism playing a vital role in the economy, the government is committed to ensuring the safety of solo travellers and tourists from across the globe.
Our surf & yoga camp is open to a diverse range of guests, including solo travellers, couples, groups of friends, and families. While we welcome families, it's important to note that parents are solely responsible for the supervision and well-being of their children during their stay.
Absolutely yes! Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, planning a group trip, or interested in hosting your own customised experience, we can create a personalised package for you. Our offerings can include accommodation, catering, surfing, yoga, logistical support and concierge services.
The official currency in Morocco is the Dirham. As of the last check, exchange rates were approximately 12 Dirhams to the British Pound (£1), 10 Dirhams to the Euro (€), and 8 Dirhams to the US Dollar ($). Dirhams can be acquired within Morocco from exchange facilities and ATMs which are available at the airport, and in Agadir. We advise you to ask your driver to stop at an ATM on your way here from the airport. It's essential to note that some ATMs in Morocco may not accept Maestro and can be unreliable. If you have a VISA card, we recommend bringing it for convenience.
At our camp, Wi-Fi is provided. However, for internet connectivity while on the go outside of the camp, we advise acquiring a local SIM card upon arrival at Agadir airport. The estimated cost for this is approximately 100 Dirhams or 10 euros for 20GB of data.
We are blessed to be able to experience the thrill of Morocco's year-round surf and sunshine and are open to guests all year round! Summer (May-September) offers enjoyable smaller waves, while winter unveils famous bigger swells for all skill levels. With diverse surf spots and over 300 sunny days annually, it's an incredible destination. Rain is a rarity, mainly in November to February. So prepare to embrace the perfect blend of sun, surf, and excitement with us no matter what time of year it is!
Feel free to bring your own surfboard, wetsuit, and leash for a personalised experience. If you prefer convenience, worry not - we offer equipment rentals for your surfing needs. Whether you bring your gear or rent from us, we've got you covered for an unforgettable surfing experience! Please note - beginner & intermediate surf packages already include equipment rental so if you'd prefer to bring your own, please let us know so we can discount this from your package.
In Morocco, a liberal Muslim country, both men and women can comfortably wear shorts and T-shirts. Swimming costumes and bikinis are okay to wear on the beach, but when strolling around town, it's recommended to cover your arms and legs a bit. The usual attire includes shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops. In mid-winter, trousers and jumpers may be necessary, as evenings can get chilly, so packing warm clothing is advisable during that season. Please note that nudity / extremely revealing clothing is culturally not accepted in Morocco.
We supply bathroom shower towels for you to use at our accommodation only, however we do not supply beach towels, so please remember to pack your beach towel!
Morocco is on 220 volts with two-pin round plugs, the same as most European countries. to pack your beach towel!
No, we do not recommend that you drink the tap water as this could make you sick! There is a small shop opposite where you will be staying that sells large 5 litre bottles of water. We recommend you bring a reusable water to use for the duration of your stay.
Absolutely! Our skilled yoga teachers and surfing instructors excel at guiding individuals of all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, you're warmly welcomed. We provide precise and innovative instruction on the fundamentals, always offering advanced options to ensure everyone can enhance their skills throughout their stay.
Unfortunately, we do not offer credit or refund toward pre-booked services or services part of a package.
We require a 20% deposit at the time of booking to reserve your stay at Rise with the remaining balance payable on the day of arrival in local currency cash. Our driver will be more than happy to take you to an ATM on your way here from the airport. Unfortunately the 20% deposit is non- refundable if you cancel within 30 days of arrival.
